This Japanese floral art is very old and distinguishes itself from Western floral compositions with its symbolism, asymetry and the use of space. There are different currents: the Rikka, the Suna-no-mono, the Nageire, the Chabana, the Seika, the Shôka, the Moribana and the Jiyûka. The Ikebana was born from the flower offering to Buddha. His literal translation is "living flower" or "making flowers live". It has always been a floral composition made from flowers, foliage, branches ... It is the art of the bouquet following Japanese traditions and techniques. These compositions must appear simple, natural and light in opposition to the Occidental bouquets. The Ikebana uses flowers, natural elements, as well as supports or containers.
